Turnkey Internet Purchases New Data Center in New York’s Tech Valley
Turnkey Internet Opening Another Data Center in New York
On February 2, 2010, Turnkey Internet announced the purchase of a former government building in Colonie, NY, with plans to upgrade the facility into a 12,000 server data center, built to federal government specifications.
President and CEO of Turnkey Internet, Adam Wills, says, “New York is a great location for hiring qualified staff and reliable green-friendly power sources and high-speed fiber optic Internet connectivity. It has provided us with the ideal centralized geographic location to meet the demands of our clients across the globe.”
New data center specifications
Turnkey Internet’s plans for upgrading the facility include increasing power and cooling capacity. The facility also features redundant green-friendly electrical systems, multiple high-capacity fiber optic Internet connections, video surveillance, and state-of-the-art biometric security protocols. Servers will be protected behind 1-foot-thick concrete walls.
The data center will also include fully-managed colocation suites for businesses looking for secure, reliable, enterprise-class connectivity for their own servers and equipment. The new Turnkey Internet data center is scheduled to open later this year Q3 2010.
